Sports

Fans of any sport will find plenty of sports enthusiasts in and around Nashua. Nashua is home to the Holman Stadium and the Silver Knights baseball teams. Many of our residents enjoy taking in a Red Sox game at Fenway Park – only 45 minutes away. Those that don’t enjoy baseball can feel the roar of 66,000 New England Patriot’s fans at the Gillette stadium – also only 45 minutes away. If hockey is your sport, GateHouse organizes outings to The Verizon Wireless Arena to watch the Manchester Monarchs play! If you prefer professional hockey, then you can take in a Boston Bruins game with a short 45-minute drive. No matter what the sport, Nashua is a sports lover’s paradise.

Nashua has a long-standing history of sports. It also boasts many golf courses, public parks and nature reserves located in the heart of the city.

If you enjoy playing sports, we have a regular softball game that our residents play in along with pick-up basketball games and golf outings to the many local golf courses.

Other Activities:
You can try skydiving without ever stepping foot inside a plane. Nashua has an indoor skydiving adventure, also combined with the largest indoor surfing facility in North America.

Arts & Culture

Nashua also offers plenty of attractions in the realm of music and art. Enjoy a musical or theatre performance at the Nashua Symphony. The Peacock Players, a youth theatre group are located in the heart of downtown. Just a short trip to Manchester will bring you to the Currier Museum of Art where you can see work from artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Monet, O’Keeffe, Calder, Scheier and Goldsmith, John Singer Sergant, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Andrew Wyeth.

The museum is brimming with numerous exhibits and collections. We recommend regular visits to enjoy the vast array of traveling exhibits that stop at Currier.

The Verizon Wireless Arena is also home to many musical and theatrical performances and shows. Some of the events hosted at the Verizon Wireless Arena include Cirque de Soleil and The Boston Pops.

Seasonal Activities

The four seasons experienced in Nashua each bring unique opportunities for outdoor events. Feel free to soak in the summer sunshine by visiting the beach or any of our many local lakes. When visiting the beach, don’t forget to experience the world-famous New England seafood delicacies.

Nashua’s Holman stadium is home to weekly firework displays during summer also. Make sure not to miss the famous Boston 4th of July fireworks show which is a short 45-minutes away. As the temperatures begin to drop during fall, you will certainly enjoy nature’s beauty with the gorgeous fall foliage. We suggest a visit to the local Mt. Monadnock to see what the Huffington Post called “an astonishing array of reds, yellows, and oranges.” After your hike through some of the most beautiful foliage in our country, you can enjoy warm apple cider at one of the many apple orchards. Make sure to return to the orchard to pick your favorite pumpkin to enjoy on Halloween.

Once the snow falls, Nashua’s close location to the White Mountains makes it a skier and snowboarder’s heaven. We suggest you also take part in Nashua’s annual holiday stroll. The holiday strolls turn the heart of downtown into a festive display of lights, music, and activities. Nashua also offers indoor and outdoor skating rinks, sledding hills, and some of the country’s best snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails.
